Announcements of the Month:

May 2002  Dale Frenzel made his pseudo-dictatorial debut with announcements as the true dictator was attending his son's confirmation.  The Broadway made space for us and apparently a good time was had by some.  There is an undercurrent of discontent with the location, possibly stemming from some cold meatballs and lasagna.....  The dictator is willing to listen to other options for remaining summer months.

April 2002  Good turnout at Yarusso's in St. Paul on Payne ave.  Nice night, but got a bit wicked later on.  Mike and Annette are biker-friendly and they have the best Italian sausage in town.... This is a good place to gather for rides etc.  Steve Hamel brought new revisions of the head/piston for the Bonneville bound Vincent.  He rode up on Mel's bike... pretty cool!

March 2002  We had 26 people show up at Broadway pizza.  We were given our own private room downstairs and we ordered up a bunch of pizzas and beer.  Made sort of a deal with the management, and they will consider giving us the "caboose" room when it gets warmer so that we may look out and gaze fondly at our bikes....  Big Dave distributed a very  detailed list of events for the next year.  We will have these on the site soon.  Late news, Steve Hamel's dad Mel has lost a year long battle with cancer.   We express our sincere sympathy to the family of this great man.

December 2001  Had a good turnout in cold weather, with even a few bikes showing up including two Triumphs and Steve H on his Vincent!  Announced the Jack Schally Garage Memorial Party (see events).  Logan is the man of the day, volunteering his design studio for our little Soire'.  Bring something interesting to look at or eat or both.  We may have a competition for the most exotic or difficult to guess motorcycle related object or tool.

November 2001  Dave put us up at the Groveland Tap.  Guinness on tap and a pub-like atmosphere. We had good weather and a number of bikes showed up including at least three Nortons and a Vincent. We are working on a venue for the winter party.   It will be some time in January.  Think of something interesting to bring for show and tell, from a needle valve to a complete bike.....

December 20  Broadway Pizza

January 2002  To be announced (this will be winter party as well)

October 2001  Excellent time was had by all at Yarusso's place.  The evening was great for riding, and we had great service in a friendly place.  We'll be back there!

September 2001  Small meeting at Broadway (much rain) but good time.  Drawing won Bones $12.  He has Yuasa 5ah 12v sealed batteries for $2 612-721-5024  Bownez@sprynet.com  Discussed Dictator's ride (see events calendar)on Oct. 6th

Next meeting at Yarusso's in St. Paul  635 Payne Ave. on Oct. 18th

Summer 2001  Had a great time moving around this summer.  Super Concours.  Some went to races, rallies and such.  To much stuff, too little time. A few of our group wounded racing and on the street.

April 2001 Will be at Lendway's again on Dale and University in St. Paul.

March 2001 Was at the Poodle Club.  If you got there early, the service was good, as were the ribs.  Later it got real noisy and we broke up early.  We did come up, by sortof popular demand with a list of meeting places for the next year:

April 19 Lendway's  St. Paul

May  17 Broadway Pizza Mpls

June 21  Cuzzy's  Washington Ave. Mpls

July  19  TrackStar Mpls

August 16 Lendway's

September 20 Grumpy's  Washington Ave. Mpls

October  18  Groveland Tap  Highland Park

November  15  Motor Oil Cafe  Mpls

February 2001

January 2001

We had a great meeting at the Groveland Tap courtesy of Dave Burley, owner.  Place is decorated with bike and auto memorabilia and has great chili!  Announced the Jack Schally Garage Memorial party 1/20/01.   Bring food, drink, odd mechanical stuff, door-prizes, photos, instruments to TrackStar in Mpls 7-midnight Saturday.  Doors open at 5pm for set-up.  Next weekend is Cycle World show (26th-28th).  Tom Smisek will be working on the website as well now that he is a retired gentleman.  Concourse is tentatively set for 7/22/01.  Vintage bike race in Mid-Ohio will be weekend of 7/15/01.  Dan Cunningham quit smoking!  February meeting will be at the Turf Club on University and Snelling  (Midway)  2/15/01 (just after valentines day).  We had a vote on meeting places, and some ideas for future venues are:  Lee's Liquor Lounge (on Glenwood in Mpls)   Barley John's (non-smoking in New Brighton)          Sally's (Stadium Village-university)             Poodle Club (Lake Street)      Molly Quin's(Lake)  Gasthaus Zur Gemutlichkeit   (Nordeast)  any other suggestions are welcome, especially if you know someone there.  We will meet at Cousy's when the weather improves.  Everyone wants to keep moving "TT" around and go to Dulono's for First Thursday.  Excitement mounts for the next INOA rally in Canada.  Contact the Dictator. November2000 was held on 11/16 at Statiue's on Lowry and University nordeast.  About 20 of us braved the winter winds and dined on the rib special.  This place is famous for its men's room which contains the most magnificent stereo urinals to be seen anywhere.   Lovely door-prizes were won by early comers including a cool tableau from the Sammy Miller Museum, a keen Norton biker-wallet and a Vincent medal.  Thanks to all.   Next meeting will be in St. Paul at the Groveland Tap near Groveland and St. Clair on 3rd Thursday (about the 18th).

October2000Was held at Grumpies on Washington near 35w. Good venue, funky and central.  Back room and porch served us well.  Huge parking area potentially available.  Voted to go to Statieu's in November, skip December and head to St. Paul for January.

September2000Was held at the Motor Oil Cafe next to TrackStar.  Good turnout and a nice night.

August2000Was held at Lendways in St. Paul near Dale and University.Good food and conversation.   The Dictator was mysteriously abscent...

July2000 Was held at Dulono's for the first of the 3rd Thursday meetings.  About 40 bikes showed up and we had a mellow time.  The Dictator didn't have to shout.......

June 2000 Meeting was again huge on first thursday. We, the gang of four, decided to move the meetings to THIRD THURSDAY from now on, letting FIRST THURSDAY take on a life of its own. Our meeting on June 15th was attended by about 25 of our loyal "winter group" who could make it for an informal gathering to discuss the future. We will move around our summer meetings and probably use Dulono's as a base for winter meetings. We will meet at Dulono's on 7/20 and Lendways (Dale and University) on 8/17. We will encourage you to bring bikes to these meetings that are 25 years old. We will scorn you appropriately more for each year that your bike passes 1975.......(except for Al Burke and Jerry Stageberg, who can ride anything they damn-well please!)

May 2000    The meeting, as usual occupied a city block.  The Dictator became hoarse trying to do announcements over the din of H_rdly Davidsons and Boss H_ggs.... showing us how long their p_nises were and how few br_in cells they had.   Balcony guy was going further out of his mind.  The gang of four began to formulate a cunning plan......

April 2000 First of all, the management at Dulono's has asked me to try to get people from parking near the back door, so they can get the pizza-mobile in and out (Dey bin good to us.....).   We apparently were featured in a couple episodes of a documentary on Lake Stree shown on channel 2.  If you have copied this, let your dictator know!  We distributed a newsletter to all interested parties.  The raffle netted a winner $42 which he promptly donated back to the club!  We announced some stuff for sale (see the virtual swapmeet).  Next meeting is May 4th.

March 2000  Great turnout.   Mentioned that Willie Jenson was ailing.  Dan observed that traffic lights timed for 35 mph are also timed for 70.......  Logan commented that organizing bikers is like hurding cats.....  Dictator making copys of a Velo collection for cost.   Al Burke donated Manx coin and other stuff for great door-prizes.  Somebody won a bunch of money and donated it back to the club.

February 2000  Valentines issue of newsletter came out and distributed among attendees.  Announced that Harvey B is with child after many years trying.  Zack Z. is avoiding the subject of cannibalism.  We gave away more money, trinkets and an Isle of Mann coin donated by Al B.

January 2000  Good attendence.  Icicle derby won by our own Eddy J. with 3 seconds off #1 by Marty M. and Lisa and Dick.  Logan made his personal best at #27.  Logan's fall Royal Enfield newsletter is out.

Our Millenium Meeting will be 1/6/2000

August/September 99'

The August meeting was apparently the biggest yet.  We are now up to about 3 city blocks of streetside parking in addition to the lot at Dulono's.  Your "Dictator for Life" was away in the middle east researching the 2-wheeled climate there.  He did make it back for the September meeting which was also stupendous.  We gave away a cool Ducati calendar from Classic Motorbooks and about $52 in cash.  The Pease event will take place the 10th and 11th of September and the Osseola wings and Wheels celebration will be happening that weekend as well.  The big surprise was that our meeting was a checkpoint for the Iron Butt again (day 4).  The next stop after us was the Excelsior-Henderson factory in Belle-Plaine.  Unfortunately, this was just hours after the lay-off announcement....  Watch for a new newsletter at the next meeting.   It will be our 10th anniversery after moving to Dulono's and starting the TCNOC newsletter and bringing the club in to the INOA.

April/May/June and July 99'

The meetings during these months have been totally OUT OF CONTROL!  We have had an average attendance far beyond what one could count.  I figure that conservatively, we have had 1500 to 2000 people.  Bikes have been parked in every conceivable spot all around the city block.  Our Dictator for life has asked all to not rev engines on exit (to spare the valves and allow his royalness to be heard doing announcements) and not take off like a rocket (to save us all a lot of embare-ass-cement....).  The summer is filled with stuff reported elswhere including the Lizard, Mid-Ohio Vintage races, the "Butts" , the Trackstar party, the Wisconsin Brit event, Sturgis etc.  Watch for new newsletter and other articles. August promises to be BIG, though our dictator for life away doing research on the Brit-Iron of the middle east....

March 99'

The March meeting was well run by our own Bob Waitz in the absence of our usual swarthy and unruly dictator.  The raffle yielded an ample sum, and a good time was had by all who didn't brave the trip to Daytona.   Next month, the meeting will be on April fools day, so I expect there will be some Harleys showing up....  We distributed yet another episode of the notorious TCNOC newsletter.  We discussed the upcoming summer events, which include the Ohio vintage days, followed one week later by the INOA rally in Virginia. Check out the events calendar for more details.

February 99'

Well, We kicked off the evening with a visit to the University of Minnesota law school to hear the good Dr. Charles Falco talk about the Art and Science of the Motorcycle.  He could literally go on for many hours given his vast knowledge and volumnous slides on all aspects of the subject.  He had pause to inspect some of the bikes brought out just for the occasion, including some tasty Nortons and Trident and a Victory (he's on the left).  We then adjourned to our usual watering hole where the regular (but not ordinary) festivities continued. We again had a drawing, and to the lucky winner went about half a C-note.  Final plans for the Big MotoMutts trip were made, and most called it an early night.  The meatball subs were as usual first rate, though, again, I ate the turkey sub.....

Next meeting in March (the Daytona meeting) will be at Dulono's.  Bring something from Daytona past to show and tell.....

January 99'

We had a cold night, but still had a turnout of about 100 members.  The raffle netted a total of $58, half of which went to a lucky member.  We gave away an Isle of Man map narrated by my idol, Harold Daniel (maybe more next time).  We announced the birthdays on Jim Kapsner and Nancy Neuman.   An undisclosed member  showed off the clock of a recently acquired Black Shadow to the jeers of the crowd.  We discussed the up-coming trips to the Field museum (see below).  We formally announced the Jack Schally Party (below). I talked about the new Norton doings in Minnesota (below). I ate a turkey sub and a baked potato.   Door prize next month will be a book about Jeff Duke donated by Jim S.

December98'

We had the meeting outside this month.   About 100 bikes showed up. We gave away about $50 cash with the drawing. Announced the "birth" of this homepage.  The next meeting will be First Thursday of January.  We'll announce the date of the Jack Schally Garage Memorial Party then.   Incidently, if you have a good place to hold that event let  me know.  Should have some videos to show of British 3-wheel car construction and about the Britton motorcycle. Maybe we can ride!  Should have some good door-prizes in Jan. including a poster from the Isle of Mann race.
